Significance and Purpose

God the Almighty is the owner of all dignity and all honor (Sura Al-Naml or “The Ants” 40). The most important feature, the Holy Koran has attributed to the pure nature of mankind, is dignity. For the sole reason of being a human, mankind is in ownership of peculiar honor and dignity. It is for such reason that Islam invites all humanity to mutually respect each other, dignify each other and disseminate fraternity as well as justice in the society. For God the Almighty, the most fundamental asset of mankind is his honor and dignity, besides the fact that He excelled man over other beings.   
In Islam, ‘family’ is the main pillar and the live beating heart of the society. It is the main background for molding the morality and personality of the individuals. God bestows love and passion to a family to fortify family relations and prevent its disintegration.   
At the opening of the third millennium, the world is witnessing the accelerated fast occurrence of many changes and transformations in many areas. Such transformations have not merely occurred in the areas of planning, means and methodology. Rather such revolutionary changes have affected man’s attitude to world and self, have caused deep generational transformations and have reformed educational system.   
The main concern of this International conference is to address the challenges, the accelerated fast occurring transformations, have imposed on families. The conference also seeks solutions for the Islamic community to overcome these challenges. The organizers of the conference also intend to benefit from the knowledge and capacity of the academia, to implement the projects that close the gap between society and academia, and synergize such capacities in Islamic communities. The main purpose is to fight against the organizations and ideologies which threat the family in the Islamic communities. 

Statement of the Theme

The abrupt unprecedented cultural metamorphosis that has afflicted the contemporary world has caused excessive changes and abnormalities in the types and forms of the families; one parent family, celibacy, multiple marriages, unconventional marriages, adoption, step father, step mother, having a partner with no commitment and host of similar issues. Divorce, remarriage, polygamy, illicit affair with stepfather or step mother and adoption have caused many emotional problems, personality complexes and legal predicaments.   
Today a new social system has emerged in the wake of the emergence of cyberspace, virtual world, information abundance in the websites, increase of communication via social networks and the possibility of interaction and transaction via such networks. Under such space, the dominant ideology, lifestyle as well as personal, family and social values have undergone fundamental transformations. And such transformations and the subsequent predicaments are in serious need of search, research and study.   
Moreover, encouraging people to stay single, to live with pets, to have partners with no commitment or white marriage and propagandizing homosexuality are going to be established as values in the Western World and are the so called ‘freedom’.   
Regarding the facts that Islam has rejected all these and similar lifestyles and regarding the subsequent corruptions that happen as the result of these lifestyles, the elite and academia of the Islamic world can prioritize cultural confrontation with such predicaments. They are expected to improve personal and academic capabilities and plan to develop mutual collaboration between academia and society to overcome such social predicaments.
